New e84 Owner, after some help
Hey guy
sorry to be the guy on the forum who only asks help. I know how that looks (normally a big contributor to a honda forum in NZ). But hoping someone can help me out with some knowledge. I'm fairly confident with mechanical and electrical work and have used NCS to code my old e90 before. Just picked up a x28i Xline from Japan. Has iDrive Few things I need a hand with - Can I retrofit a reversing camera, From what I have read I can as I have both front and rear PCD. Has anyone done this? and if so whats involved. Is it just a matter of camera and then coding? It looks like there is a blanked out spot on the tailgate ready for a camera. Can I enable bluetooth, for phones and music, I have iDrive and have options S6FL USB/Audio interface S6VC Control for Combox But no bluetooth option on the I drive menu. Again from what I read it could be a matter of adding an antenna and coding? Lastly has anyone coded a region change for the iDrive radio? Not fussed about navigation (as google maps is better anyway with traffic) but it would be good to have OCEANIA channels for my radio. ps going to trall the forums now, but if you know of any other nifty features and may be tricky to realise, or that I can code in let me know! TIA |

You can install non oem reverse camera with emulator as I doubt the rdc module has the camera option.
For the region you need to change your VO (vehicle order) and default code the cic module. For the Bluetooth you need to check what kind of media module you have (ulf, combox...) |

Yes have a dcan cable and NCS, INPA and pretty sure have standard tools (but haven't played with it)
Have plugged into the car yet as it's going through compliance here in NZ. Will look at the module physically over the weekend |

NCS and inpa are part of standard tools Reading a module will not change anything on the car. I suggest to read the module with ncsexpert and open the trace file with ncsdummy to see what options you have.

Holy threat revival batman!,
sorry I have been away so didnt get to work on this. I have coded the radio for radio stations in NZ. Didnt bother changing the VO to match for now. Purchased a emulator for the camera, havnt got it working as yet. Coding looks successful as it shows the options but am not getting any image, so suspect hardware issue. Possibly faulty emulator. Fairly certain I have combox the CIC module shows all the options for a bluetooth system. So would it be a matter of hardware then coding? Unsure of part numbers, but think i need the antennna, mic and cable from combox to ?? |

Hey I'm also based in NZ. Could you share what steps you have undertaken to enable BT? Where did you buy antenna, mic and how did you code? I got a mulf2 box at the rear and I'm hoping I can enable the BT and phone functions.

2013 X1 - What causes this?
I was breaking in new pads and rotors with the 45-10mph braking per instructions when I heard a pop and suddenly decelerated. Got a check engine light and immediately pulled over and shut down.
Found this and a touch of smoke and some oil in this plastic pipe which was broken. Any thoughts on what may be going on? Had it towed to a local shop rather than risk starting it up again. 2013 BMW X1 39k miles bought it last year w 34k so it's still pretty new to me. No idea about the history. |

Charge pipe blowout: typical. It did the same thing on my N55: a loud "pop". I put a hose clamp temporarily, and could drive it around, gently, while my aluminum replacement part was arriving.
An OEM plastic pipe will break again someday. My guess is that with a hose clamp, it would eliminate that problem. The stress wouldn't be on the C-clamp that much, that in return is stressing a small plastic part that breaks. |

Hi I was wondering if you could explain what you had to do in order to enable bluetooth for your car? I have the ability to connect through bluetooth for phone calls but I would like to stream music as well.
I do not have iDrive but I believe I do have a combox in the trunk of my car |
