They need to find a way to simplify the powertrain. Kill the hybrid crap, just give it a high revving motor and a manual and I'd be a lot more interested.

Honda had $30k hidden trunk money for the NSX back in 2017 and lowered it to $20k in 2018. Honda has realized they can't sell the current NSX for $150k+. It doesn't have the cachet for a $150-200k car. They need to drop the hybrid/electric powertrain and lower the price to $120k.

Funny how few years ago they had $20-30k dealer markups for people that had to be the first on the block with one..... now the 2019 is cheaper then what some are trying to sale their 2017 for
I can't wait until the original ones are going for the same price( cuz then I'll dump my 1992 for a 2019 ) I appreciate Honda for trying to achieve the tech and performance of the Porsche 918 super car and keep it priced less then a gt3, but they overdid themselves and put it out of reach in price point to try and sell a ton of them. They should have just kept it lightweight NA with like a 4.8 liter V8 with about 450-500 hp or even do a twin turbo 6 and have a manual transmission available and kept the price around $100k instead of $200k they would have sold a crap load more...keeping the original design lineage would have helped also....oh well, it's an absolute steal when you consider the tech the car has compared to the 918 and LaFerrari, but it just can't compete in a world of so many great choices with less expensive cars.....I still want one though someday |

Car is great, just doesn't have the heritage that the big dogs have to be able to pull the trigger on one of these, I'd rather get a 458, current gen r8 v10, GT3, among many other cars. If this was 100k it would sell
I can't look on Acura and think heritage or race DNA, more like ricers and hellaflush |

I just test drove a 2018 with the full carbon package with 3000k on it for $130,000.00 It is a phenomenal car. I was checking it out for someone but if I could swing it, I would own one in a heartbeat.

I don't give AF what NOBODY says, the car is Sexy AF and VERY capable with any of it's competition. With this $20k off, if I were in the market for a Supercar in this price point > $200k, this is my first choice. Hybrid tech and all. It'll bring your base price down to $139,300 before options!!!

they need to price it just slightly above GTRs in the 110-120k range. Then I think more people will be inclined to buy. Man I feel so bad for the early adopters of the car who were paying the sticker price of nearly 200k loaded. At least 50-60k in depreciation over 2 years.

Even if they sweetened the deal with an additional $20k I wouldn't be interested. Honda is so uninspiring from a motorsports/performance standpoint and have been since sales peaked for the AP1 back in the early 2000s. Their sweet spot is selling mundane commuter cars and minivans.

If you have the money you can buy one of these and start competing in the GT series races.
Goddam I need to hit that lotto asap !!! Funny how people forget Honda's racing heritage...... Aryton Senna ring a bell??? McLaren?? Yeah, they haven't had the success they once had when the old man Soichiro was alive, but in the 80's and 90's they were taking names. There is plenty of racing heritage with Honda, just not the panache to try and sale $20k gas sippers along side $200,000 super cars If I had the money I wouldn't hesitate to buy one....but I can't say a slightly used 458 wouldn't be tempting But this would look damn good in my garage |

You should drive one, it will change your opinion. I am not a hybrid EV lover but the low end grunt of this is insane. And I flogged my bosses SLS AMG right before the test drive. The dealer I was at had three 2018's with almost no miles for under 130k ish

With those electric motors up front it is pretty much spanking much more expensive cars in 0 to 60 times..... I got to drive in one before they were released back in 2015 at NSXPO and it damn near snapped my neck with that amazing launch

Under normal driving conditions, absolutely not. They look great, they're most likely lighter (less rotational mass) but that's about it. Under extreme driving conditions, on a race track they are. There are enough articles and videos floating around the interweb with testing data to support this.

Is this going to be another one of those cars that sells like shit then triples in value as soon as they ax it?
