I really can't stand the new X1 at all. Dynamics of a FWD-based crossover aside, the styling is ugly and bloated. The E84 is sleek and athletic looking. The interior is also rental car-feeling. It's probably a nice interior for its key demo - a young buyers first purchase of a luxury brand - but it's cheap and too mainstream for what I've known from Bimmers of the past. Had one as a loaner last week and it was completely uninspiring.
