Thoughts on the X2 Concept?
Just saw this today and it somehow made me think of our car. It seems that the E84 is just more sporty than the F48 and that's the feeling in getting from the X2 concept as well. Almost seems like they dulled down the X1 in order to make room for the X2.
Anyone else get that feeling? What do you guys think of the new X2 concept? http://www.theverge.com/2016/9/29/13...ow-2016-photos |

I like it! I don't like any of the current BMW line-up options, but this X2 may cause me to stay in the family. I've already been looking at the Mercedes GLA250 as my next ride...

Looks like it belongs on the moon ... I would be embarrassed to be seen in or getting out of it.
I'm sure actual product will look better. Or at least hope so.

Like its larger siblings I'm sure it will be lapped up by certain demographics that care more about ride height instead of utility. It's seems like BMW is the only mfg that is somewhat successful with the SUV coupe concept. Honda Xtour and Acura twin failed miserably.

I like it, except that the front bumper scoops are a bit too exaggerated/boy-racer. As y'all say, though, the real one will not be as aggressive as the concept.

I like it, but doubt the wisdom of splitting that market between the X1 and X2 if they are both FWD. They will steal sales from each other. If they really want another FWD, it should be the new 1 series or the 2 active tourer.

There are plenty of sports cars out there that are FWD, so you end up having one model which targets those wanting a luxury small utility vehicle, and the second model which targets those wanting a small crossover with lots of sport on the outside (I sat outside because I suspect the stuff underneath will be all the same).
Plus if buyers are distinguishing between the X3 and X4 or the X5 and X6, they'll distinguish between X1 and X2. It's a good move by BMW, I'm just upset that our amazing E84 will not have a successor. |
