I know right, I was hoping to get one put on today. Guess I'll have to keep waiting. Found a promising link here
http://www.rearpaintguards.com/bmw-x...ard-protector/ Did the bumpers change for 13-14? If not, I don't see why this wouldnt fit... Anyone know? According to real OEM, for the Msport rear bumper, the part numbers are the same between 09-now... so they should be the same

Saw that one, it doesn't cover the edge of the bumper and is not long enough for my needs sadly it looks of good quality though.

X1 Black Bumper cover
Bought mine on ebay, less than $40.00, easy stick on, looks great , works well.. Also bought a nice sunglass holder that replaces the drivers grasp handle above door, very useful!

Hi Mtpisqah,
I also had one on my Subaru. Looked and worked great. Talk about coincidence. This week I noticed some scratches/dints/chips on the back. Wife didn't know how happened. I had to put some BMW Touch Up Paint over. Thanks HotRodW and nospam. I have emailed - rearguards - with my model/type description. Even though I don't have the 2 that they mention/show, the M Sport looks like the perfect shape for mine. |

Rear Bumper Protection RearGuard
Several small scratches on top/edge of rear bumper from loading. Discussed with my BMW dealer's parts guy and all they had to offer was a skirt you can pull out of trunk to cover bumper while loading. Looked on-line and all the offerings I saw looked like they covered the flat top of bumper, but NOT the contoured edge itself. By comparison, my 3-series E46 wagon came standard with a sensible protective cover on the edge.
Reading this thread. I called NGP Racing (New German Performance -- www.ngpracing.com) and ordered a RearGuard for my 2014 X1 (not a Sport or X-Line, just a straight X1). The website was confusing, but a phone call worked it out. Installed a couple weeks ago. It's an excellent fit and doesn't look like an add-on. Contours perfectly to the bumper, wraps over the edge, and thin enough to not interfere with opening the tailgate. The flat black looks original (see attached pic). Since it is relatively hard material and contours around the edge, a *perfect* installation is critical -- clean surface, centered, aligned over edge. I used edge of masking tape to mark my positioning before adhering in place. (Not much room for error. Position it wrong and you may catch the opening gate.) |

RearGuard
When I called them, explained I had straight X-1. They asked me to forward picture of my car. Let them determine correct one for my car, but I never ordered by a part number. They asked me to send them a picture of my completed installation and asked for permission to add to their site. I sent them the picture of my completed 2014 X-1 installation a couple weeks ago. Suspect if you call them and reference my installation and the pic I posted here, they'll send you the correct fit. The outcome of factory look and fit made the slight hassle of ordering worthwhile.

High again Mtpisgah,
Doe's the rear of yours go out roughly 3/4" to 1" at 45 Deg. then drop straight down around 3/8" to 1/4" like HotRodW's M photo OR Just drop straight down 3/8" to 1/4" like rboynton's photo? My back looked the same as the M from the Pictures so i got M and it fitted perfectly. Good luck. |
