Small update:
The plastidip never came in so we tried foil. It was the 1st time he did the foil wrapping on round lights. I will make some more pictures when the lights are one. It is just so awesome. Over day as over night. Because when you see the pictures like this you could think it is a little bit over. The effect I like very much. The work should be better and be re-done. Since it was he's 1st time doing this it is however a pretty good try. Side markers where done as well. Nice effect, work could be better as well. Reflectors at the rear, front headlight as fog lights still need to be done but with a much cleared tint to be legal and useful. |

Just had my headlight eyebrows tinted, decided to tint the entire eyebrow in light smoked tint. I decided to go this route over the carbon eyelids because the eyelids would cover the led bar, which I didn't want to happen. I might tint the mirror signal lights in light smoke also in the future but still contemplating if it would actually match the entire theme of the car.

Like the eyebrow tint.
What's the source?

I got the carbon eyelids from Ebay and have to say they look great. They had thin strips of 3M tape around the edges. Well, apparently that's not enough!!! Was on the highway yesterday and one blew right off! Maybe it's because I put them in cooler weather but next time I'm going to tape up the whole surface and use a heat gun to heat thing up so the tape bonds better. It is definitely true that you can mount them slightly higher to show the light strip up top. Needless to say, awaiting another order.

Did you wipe your lenses off with alcohol? The road grime and wax build-up won't give you a good surface to have the adhesive stick to.

Yes. From the looks of it, the tape did not adhere to the eyelid well. Maybe when the new set arrives, I should remove the tape and make sure the undersurface is alcohol'd before putting the tape on. I might even have some 3M adhesion promoter from a previous project.

I had mine done with tinted film, along with the headlights and other leading surfaces of the car. Spring-time (break-up) roads are bad here, with all the rocks used during winter.
