'No Cost' maintenance
Had this conversation with my dealer today, after an $140 bill for 4-wheel alignment.
Tire and alignment issues are not covered by the extended 'no cost' maintenance agreement that BMW promotes. It would make sense to me to offer 'once a year' service regarding alignment and tires. For those of us in the cratered NE especially, yearly alignment is just something we have to adjust to. Moon |

One can hit a curb and knock out alignment so it's like road hazard on tires.
$140 sounds like fair deal, and if its done right could last life of car. |

That's the reality, hence my suggestion that the alignment only be offered free gratis once a year. I'm not saying that the $140 was unreasonable (it's what we paid for the Audi as well), but BMW is claiming 'no cost' for maintenance, until we get tangled up in certain exclusions.

I think in the fuller description, BMW does specify "no cost regularly scheduled maintenance" or something like that. I was certainly told explicitly it didn't cover tire related service.

Thankfully, BMW considers wiper blades, brake pads, rotors, brake fluid, engine oil, all filters, and a few other things, as maintenance items.

During my first free oil change at the dealer I was offered a full fuel cleaning procedure for $225. Knowing it was a sales pitch and a waste of money I rightfully declined.

A decision made by a bean counter somewhere it would seem to me, but one alignment a year likely won't break the corporate coffers. It ought to be mandatory, actually. Moon |

Wiper Blades, I believe are only replaced at regular service intervals if needed so if you have a long time between service intervals you might have to buy them yourself. My car is showing that it will need service at 7000 miles or in July. I won't get close to 7000 miles by then so I guess bring it any time in July?

vehicle check
My vehicle check warning just came up as I approach 30k. Had it in for oil change and brake recall recently, ya think they could have done it then. Is it worth it going back for just vehicle check, or waiting? What do they do?

I was told something similar...except my SA wrote on the order that the "wiper blades were streaking" otherwise they may not replace them... Also make sure to specifically tell them to replace the rear hatch wiper blade as well otherwise they won't do it.
