Traditionally, all BMWs have sold better in black.
But in 2012, grey was the new black, and I'm sure many haven't caught up that this is already old, and buy grey to match everybody else. (And some just because they like grey, of course) So my guess is (for the US market, where we don't get a lot of colors): Grey > Black > White > Silver > The two dark blues > Beige > Orange > Le Mans Blue |

15 years ago, I'll always thought Silver or Grey cars were horrible. For one reason, in that on a grey, rainy day, they were almost impossible to see and were a safety concern. But, now with better day time driving lights, and some maturity on my part, I've retracted that belief. And therefore my soon to be X1 will be MinGrey. I haven't seen the color in person yet, but from pics all over the net, and forum comments, it seems to be cool. So I went for it.

In my not so humble opinion, beige must die. Black? Well, I remember black walls. And black bathroom furniture and appliances. Can't seem to have seen much of that lately. For cars, though, black is a classic since the Model T. |

Could it be because white and black are free colors? Every other color is $550. Plus, if a dealer is ordering it for the lot, they take less risk when they order white or black. Other colors are harder to sell as CPOs.
We just took a tour at the x3 factory in SC and they stated that White and Black are their most popular colors. I saw a lot of those on the line, next most frequent were the grey shades. Saw one brown, maybe three blues, and one or two reds. |

As someone mentioned earlier White has taken over as the new No. 1 color for all vehicles in the US. The previous 5 years or so Silver or Silver Gray were No. 1.

I'm with you there - actually ordered Min White but then picked up a VO instead . I'm sure our orphaned white over red looks sharp (come to think of it it probably arrived recently) but I do like having the less common Valencia and think it looks good on the X1

No, really, I think non-muted colors are great. Too bad there are only two of them to choose from, and only one if you don't go for M-Sport. |

For the X1...
You can look at cars.com and get an idea of what the 2,595 X1s in their system are painted. Your dealer can tell you more stuff as well since they have access to cars that are in the system (including custom orders) - of course this is just a point in time look, but still a decent representation.

For me dark colors or bright colors work nicest on the X1.
So For me Brown is my fave.. and then the bright orange (sharpest). White doesn't look special enough to me .. Dark Blue seems nice than the black.. But I settled for black Just my opinion |

Have a lok at the Sparkling Bronze Metallic. Love the color and is kinda unique. I wanted silver and saw one sparkling bronze metallic in the showroom. Depends on the light but has nice shades. Ended up buying a Sparkling Bronze.

WHY? My beige interior is gorgeous. My Jaguar white interior was stunning. Light colors offer a serene ambiance. I have a black interior car as well, I can't have all black, it's depressing, we need diversity. |

alpine white with CR "Nevada" (aka shitty) leather is mine, id imagine that alpine white with beige leather is the most common, most bland
