X1 (US) available used already?
I'm considering replacing my wife's Mercedes C300 with a X1. But I made a bad car buying decision this year by buying a brand new Subaru STi on impulse and trading that in for the Mercedes with less than 1000miles on it after we figured it wasn't for us. On the brighter side I sold my '07 335i and picked up an '09 m3 sedan.
All this has made me think very carefully about my next purchase. Just for the sake of it I did a 'pre-owned' search on bmwusa.com for the X1, and guess what! Almost 10 vehicle showed up in the search results. Below is the one closest to me. What do you guys think? Is it worth the savings to consider this? http://www.hendrickbmw.com/used/BMW/...6489a87a48.htm |

Gee why would a used X1 be available in the US at this point? It's only been for sale for a couple months. So it's not a trade-in or dealer demo, I would think. A return? Under what circumstances?

I'm as much amazed as you are. There are more than 10 available if you do a search on bmwusa.com. Some are clearly demo cars, but not all.

I can imagine some returning it if buying it thinking it's an SUV.
There are also some unfortunate people (like Jeremy Clarkson) who cannot use the iDrive knob. And, of course, with the economy the way it is, some whose life situation has changed. |

Just call the dealer, Hendrick is probably the biggest BMW dealer in the US or one of them. The guy owns a lot of dealerships with almost every brand. I bet its a demo used as a loaner.

Looks like it priced out at about $39k sticker and they are asking about $35k but they obviously have some room to work since it is " used" now. I'd offer $33.5 and be willing to settle for $34k. It's not like it had several thousand miles on it just 584 so to me that would be a good deal.

hmmm, I wonder how many of those were refused pick up because of no paddle shifters.
hmmm, but I guess they would still be considered new. |

The only people that didn't get paddles bought M Sports thinking they had paddles which the web sites showed. This is an X line.
