The Mineral Grey is handsome and when I placed my order, I chose that color. I had been wavering between Deep Sea Blue and Mineral Grey, and the only thing that tipped me over to Mineral Grey was that i thought it would look better with black interior and black roof rails. For me the Deep Sea Blue really seems nicest with the lighter interior as contrast.
Then I remembered the Midnight Blue (no car that color was on the dealer lot when I was checking colors). I saw how in pics it looks so good with the black interior. So I changed my order to Midnight Blue as of today. Not sure how much longer I would have had to make that change but glad I got it done. And as handsome as the Mineral Grey is, I couldn't help noticing on my LA freeway commute that dark greys are popular now for a lot of cars. Seems as is 80% of the cars on the road are black, white, silver or some sort of grey...a very monotonous rainbow... |

Saw midnight blue at the dealer today. Sales guy says it's a new BMW color. Saw it on an X6 and an X1- both with sand beige interiors. Fantastic color combination in my humble opinion. Unfortunately, it's not available in the M Sports Line. Not as bright as Lemans blue and not as purple as deep sea blue. Mineral Grey is a nice understated color. It depends what you're looking for and your personal taste. I don't know about everyone else, but I can't see the subtleties of color hues on the internet. Nothing is better than going to the dealer and seeing the colors in person if you really want to see the true colors IMHO .

I recognized the townhouse in your picture and knew you were right by North Park. My parents live in Hampton just off of Ferguson road so when I'm back in town I always have to cut through North park past those townhouses. I knew Frank Pello who built them back in the day. Small world!

I saw both Space Grey and Mineral Grey cars on the Beverly Hills BMW lot when I was choosing a color. Space Grey is handsome as well, but "flatter," less metallic than Mineral Grey.
I initially chose Mineral Grey then changed to Midnight Blue. Just felt like it was time for a blue car...mine is due to arrive in port around 11/14. |

I was going to order a grey tint, normally Mineral Grey.
But as I was walking towards the office of the Beamer representative saw the Midnight Blue X1 in the showroom and I confidently decided to go for that color! Looks very nice and distinctive enough from other blue colored cars. |

And Le Mans blue looks really stunning at night, but more boring during daylight. Of course, the Jeff Koons and Mataza Kayama paints are even more stunning, but they don't offer those on the X1... |
