2012 X1 28i
Hi everybody !
My mom traded her 2010 X1 23d for the new 28i. Reasons were because the M Sport pack is more pretty than non M versions and because she didn't like so much the sound of the diesel... Here are iPhone 4 pics: The combo is great and I can't wait to try this 28i soon She will take delivery on Monday and I will update this thread with better photography. If you are interested here is her previous 23d: http://e84.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=430153

Thanks !
Here are more photos: All I can say is that this 28i is a WAY better than the 23d ! Much more comfortable, a lot quieter, the steering wheel is totally different and the ride itself is more comfortable... It is truly impressive comparing to the 2010 X1 23d. It's in break-in period so I can't speak about performances but it will be faster than the 23d without doubt...

How is the ride different and what are the differences in wheel, tyre, suspension specifications between the two vehicles that make the difference to the ride/handling?
I've had regular 1 series steering wheel before, but love my new X1 MSport one much better too. Great photography, do you live near to these amazing places? Very envious of that countryside! |

Great pictures, and the thought of the 28i well ............. You say the car rides better, did you have sports suspension and 18" wheels on your 23d?
It almost feels like I'm looking at my own car, except for the black shadowline and roof rails, and twin exhausts. I've been waiting to see what they look like on a Space Grey Msport for some time. Clearly your mother knows what she likes after making such a quick change from 23d to 28i. Excellent choice. |

Great car and great post! I am getting (hopefully) this exact same car (well my sport seats are cloth alcantara) next week and couldn't find quality pics of the X1 M package in space grey. Now I know I made a good decision. I find very interesting that you find these M package car with those 18" RFT tires (same as I my ordered car) to be more comfortable than the other 23d X1 as the 23d was a X-Line with 17" no sports suspension... Well that's good news! Do you find it was worth to get the sport suspension on the M package?
You say you find the steering better? Could it be because of the M package? Could it be that the turn ratio of the steering wheel of the "normal" version is higher than the sports M steering wheel? Last question: Does the blue angel eyes now come standard on all X1 or did you pay and additional sum to get those? Beautiful car! Congrats!! |

Beautiful combination. The Space gray really accentuates the lines of the car
