Winter mats options?
Now that the winter tires discussion has been done to death, what are you guys doing for winter mats?
I checked and WeatherTech doesn't have anything for the 2012 X1 model. Does anyone know if the OEMs do the trick or are they tiny and don't protect the sides from snow and salt? I'm asking because I had OEMs on my Audi and they sucked big time in terms of area covered |

I'm thinking of getting some 3M scotch fabric spray and add some of them on the carpet, so at least salt and water will repel.... less harmful. |

Buy this soft capet at Canadian Tire for $19.99. It is in the winter mat section. It's a perfect size to put under the rubber mats. You need to cut a bit around the gas pedal area. It won't affect the gas pedal. The carpet is high enough on the side to absorb the slush\mud\water. Perfect protection to keep your carpets pristine. I can't find the carpet on the Canadiantire website but they sell it. Good luck.

Mine came with a set of 4 OEM rubbery all-weather floor mats at delivery. They look good, are high quality and should last for the lifetime of the car. These aren't standard equipment? Maybe the dealer threw them in.

Front: Back: My trunk liner is also OEM and matches the floor mats. I purchased this as an accessory, after the fact: |

Well, 2 messages later, Weathertech.ca are still not responding as to availability for 2012 X1s...
Figures they are only distributing inventory from US store and since they don't have the X1, we are SOL |

I wonder if 2012 liners would work. This company from Canada sells carpeted liners. Ive used CatchAll brand carpeted liners before and was very happy with them.

Weather Tech Mats for X1
When I called customer service about mats and cargo liners for the X1, they told me that it would be 2 months before they had them for sale. Having had them in my prevous cars, it's worth the wait.

Received my Findway floor liners today ordered from ebay. It said it was for a 2012 but fits my 2013 perfectly. For those who don't want to wait for weathertech these are a nice if not better alternative because they are carpeted.

Bumping an older thread for some additional info and feedback:
For those who have gone with Findway mats, how have they held up for you after a season or two of use? I am on the hunt for *carpeted* all weather/winter floor mats with good footwell coverage for our new X1. My wife absolutely hates the slipperiness of the Weathertech mats. We both loved an old set of carpeted top surface plastic winter liners we got from LLtech years ago for an Audi. The Findway mats look somewhat similar to those old LLtech mats. Is the top surface on those Findway mats fabric? Does anyone have a close up picture of that top surface? Pictures of the mats installed in an X1 would be great as well. The mfg's website is not very helpful for detailed pictures. Thanks
