Gas Mileage for US-spec X1 sDrive28i?
Since the RWD version of the X1 with the N20 engine appears to be a US-market exclusive and weighs in around 3,500 lbs. vs. the xDrive version that weighs 3,700 lbs., what's the best guess for EPA city/highway gas mileage?
The RWD 328i F30 with the same drivetrain weighs about the same at 3,460 lbs., but most likely has a better drag coefficient. That car is rated at 23 city/33 highway, down from the initial rating of 24/36. Does anyone have experience with RWD F30 fuel consumption with the N20/8-speed auto transmission to report? I know that some in Canada/other markets have discussed their actual fuel consumption with X1 xDrive N20 versions, but can others weigh in? It's not a big deal for me, but my this would be a replacement for my wife's car and she wants something that gets decent gas mileage this time. Too bad the diesel versions aren't going to be offered here, as I think they would be well-received.

There was a quote in the USA today from a BMW official during the NY show and he said 23 city 34 hwy for the sdrive. It's probably the same guy that said 24/36 on the F30 and that changed. Realistically I would think 22 city and 32 hwy which is 1 off the city and 2 off his hwy quote.

My guess on epa would be same as F30 city, probably 1, maybe 2 worse hwy due to drag. X drive should ring in 1-2 worse on both numbers I would guess. Hey BMW- I can get diesel fuel cheaper than premium now so a high 30s mpg diesel X1 is where you need to be or just let the GLK have all those sales from pent up demand for compact AWD diesel utilities...

But when I'm driving it very gentle and reset the values in iDrive I can get about 7L/100KM. But we're driving the downtuned version(20i) with 184HP. |

But the factory spec for the european cars is: 7.6L/100km for xDrive 20i 7.9L/100km for xDrive 28i So I guess the sDrive will just be a little bit more economical than the xDrive |
