More power require. . .
Starting to wish I'd gone for the 20d at least! Actually not complaining too much. The 18d is adequate but I'm missing some punch at times when I'm wanting to push on. However I'm certainly not keen on non OEM aftermarket chipping etc.
I think the 18d and X-Drive loaded with stuff and people can struggle. On the bright side we used the X-drive properly for the first time on Friday, was at a horse show and parking was in a very muddy field. So we followed the Land Rovers and other big 4X4's though the mud and parked up. Our last car would have needed a tractor to pull it out! Downside. . .its now super filthy! |

Simple, I know its no different, but BMW don't think that way, so when I ask them to fix something that broke, they could and would be entitled to tell me to bugger off.

I have never had an issue with that, but then I wouldn't try and claim on warranty if I thought I had caused the fault with a remap.
I have had 20 diesels in the last 12 years and mapped them all, never caused an issue. The only thing that would stop me is if the insurance was too high because of a map, I was with Swift on my Merc last year and they wouldn't cover me, so waited till I moved in the spring before doing it, but I wouldn't let warranty stop me. Makes such a huge difference. |

Not really.
The 18i is a NA petrol, so not much you can do in the way of tuning. The 18d can be mapped from 143bhp to 200bhp pretty easily, so well worth doing. |

You could use a decent tuning box, like Spider or DTUK Tuning.
These will both give you close to 200bhp. I have tried the Spider and it was very good. DT UK do a box that controls boost as well, plus look at the UK e90 section of this forum as they were offering a forum discount. |
