Wheel specs
Does anyone have the exact wheel specs for the North American X1?
Essentially I am trying to find out if my spare 335 wheels will fit on my X1 (for the winter). I understand tires are different but the actual wheel seems to fit... Thx |

The tyre rim spec for the X1 is PCD : 5x120 Offset : 30 to 50 Bore : 72.6. These figures are valid for 17" to 20" rims.

Thanks for confirming guys.
The 335xi winters mags I was using 17'x7.5 34mm offset 120mmx5 will fit like a glove. I'll be ordering those winters tires soon while they are cheap (225 50R17) |

so as long as the rims are PCD 120, bore 72.6 and offset is between 30 to 50, then the rims should fit?
i think the e60 xdrive are et 43 so these should technically fit, correct? thanks |

going 7.5" with 43mm will have less clearance on the strut side by 9mm. going 8" with 43mm will have less clearance on the strut side by 15mm I went with 8" wide with 35mm, i can tell you my winter tire is nearly buffing the strut... i would say by a mere 7mm. So you better check that by fitting the rim before you buy. or else use the tire/ wheel fit tool here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=12 |

For 8" wide wheels stock is 30ET, I am running 29ET on my winters and they stick out an insignificant 1mm more. The wide range 30 to 50 ET quoted above is for fronts AND rears and with bigger wheels, stock 18" rear is 9 inches wide 40ET, so you can see there is room for fitment options in the back. FYI, although more offsets will fit in the back with narrower wheels, they will not look right. Stick as close to stock as possible. |

thanks canadian-eh. guess i'll just go to a tire shop for snow tires & rims rather than buying them off online to ensure proper fitment. was just comparing spending the same dough for replicas vs OEM wheels.

I'm running with Nokian Hakkapeliitta RSi 225/50R17 tires on style 162 replica alloy wheels (17" x 8.0" 5x120 ET35 Dia72.6). I can confirm that there is less than 10mm of clearance to the strut. But so far, I've encountered no issues with this setup.
And of course, the traction is superior! |

I used Tirerack and found them easy to deal with.......although I did have to pretend my car was a 2009 528i My setup is posted in the 17" snow tire thread with lots of pictures. Rial Salerno wheels, in 17x8 29ET with 225/50-17 Pirelli sottozero RFT. I am loving mine and they fit perfect! If you can spend the 1900 delivered to your door, you cannot go wrong with quality german EH2+ compliant wheels and factory approved RFT winter tires. These are a factory quality setup and are well over 1000 dollars cheaper than what the dealer wants for their alloy package all in. They are even 500 to 600 less than what they want for their steel wheel package. You might save 300-400 locally on a set of chinese replicas with non runflat tires on them (heck you can save 200 bucks on tirerack by opting for the non-runflat michelin x-ice2 which is a great tire!) As always your mileage may vary!! Good luck in your selection! Last edited by Canadian eh!; 11-26-2011 at 03:45 PM.. |

so these rial como should technically fit as well correct as i think they're pretty close to stock. do i need to worry about the backspacing figure. tirerack search for 2010 528xi.
17x7.5 Offset: 35mm Backspacing: 5.55" Bolt Pattern: 5-120 Rec. Tire Size:225/50-17 i agree, rather spend a little more on non-replicas and yes factory charges over $2,700. thanks again. |

Check my other post about X1 wheel fitment, Center Bore to Top of calliper is VERY critical for aftermarket fitment on the X1. This is the reason that I have brand new rims for sale!!!

Sorry, what is 'backspacing,' I've not seen that spec on wheel descriptions?

I found the exact same E60 ET43 wheel (Style 138) on craigslist which I can use it for winter setup. Did you have any issues with offset 43? |
