New wheels came in...time for a fender roll
I'm pretty excited...my new wheels arrived today. Renn motorsport RS51 19in wheels. These will be my daily wheels; they are 9.5 square, ET35 and I plan on running 265/35/19 on all four corners.
These wheels are relatively new to the market (purchased from Sonic Tuning) but are JWL and VIA certified (with TUV pending). They are flow-forged, and only weigh 21lbs each for 19x9.5 ET35 which is amazing. From what I can tell the construction seems pretty good, and finish is uniform and stunning. Monday the cars goes in the shop for front fender roll - will be a challenge getting the 265 rubber up front but it should turn out pretty badass. |

This was one of my questions and got conflicting info from two vendors on this. If that's true, I intend on seeing how much I can roll the fenders and may return the fronts for ET20. But that's very aggressive so figured I'd see if I can get away without a spacer first.

I do plan on lowering it so will cross that bridge when it comes. I will need to do some research if spacers are safe for the track. |

As far as spacers go for the track, I just spent this past weekend at Sebring with 10mm non hubcentric spacers up front and had zero issues. I've used spacers on almost all of my track cars and they've been fine as well. |

You're going to rub your strut if you have the factory stuff. The aftermarket companies use e90 base stuff with a smaller od than what the x1 has. That's why I went with narrower wheels, I'd rub I'd I went wider

Hi paradoxical3,
BMW told me max width for front should be no more than 8". I know from this site there are many wheel fitments much bigger. WOW - 9.5" with 265 tyres . Am looking forward to some CLEAR pictures of the guards and fitted wheels. Good luck. |

They are on a promo sale right now for $1366 shipped, which is really a fantastic deal. It almost seems too good to be true - 21lbs, flow formed, JWL/VIA approved - the wheels are stamped with these marking and Sonic Tuning explicitly confirmed they passed, but I still have asked to get in touch with the manufacturer to try to get a certificate.
These are the same price as Apex wheels, look way better, and weigh less? Hard to beat if the safety certifications are really what they say they are. I think I am going to order a 5mm spacer just in case they can't fit them on. |

Thanks! I also ordered a Macht Schnell stud conversion kit, Blox extended length forged lugnuts, and 5mm spacer. Tomorrow I will investigate whether the vac motorsport hub extenders will work...this would give me more confidence in running a 5mm spacer since they are all non hubcentric.

I'd just go with the VRSF, they are all going to make the same power and they are the cheapest. You will totally love the downpipe, it was a very big difference in my car. It got me 2mph alone in trap speed.

What was your setup? 265 all around will be interesting. I'm running 245 19x8 up front; with stock suspension. I think you may be running spacers to clear the struts with a 265. On the rear, you will be fine (Running 265 on 19x9).. |

So turns out that the car definitely does not need a fender roll for 265 square! You need a 10mm spacer in the front (5mm is too small) with et35 wheels.
The upshot? Since I don't need a fender roll for 265, I will try a 285 square setup for my track wheels Here's a crappy cell phone picture of what the wheels look like - the car is not lowered yet, I will probably be ordering a new suspension this week and take proper pictures with my camera once the rain stops and I can detail the car. |
