Coilovers owners - how HIGH can you go?
Wondering if theres anyone out there with aftermarket coilovers that did not lower their X1's significantly (15 mm or less) or even possibly raised it.
I am currently eyeballing some KW V1's and was just curious if any brands in particular could achieve this.

I recall seeing someone who raised their X1 and posted about it here. Not sure what he used but I'm use if you search here or the fest forums you'll find it.
I'm on the phone so can't easily search. |

I should clarify, I have seen the thread about the Eibach lift springs, but I actually don't want to lift it either.
Wondering if there are any aftermarket coilover setups that can mimic stock height (to essentially take advantage of the better dampening only). |

I have KW V1 kit and have the rear at the absolute max for height for winter and there is about a 1 to 1.5 finger gap. I'll be honest it doesn't ride the best at this height as I think the struts are at top of stroke and it is more or less bouncing on the springs with little dampening. It's fine and still better than stock struts with oem or h&r

Interesting. Thanks guys.
Only option might be to just swap to sport package springs and run Bilstein HD shocks/struts. Does anyone know how much the OEM M sport springs lowers the X1 compared to non-Sport? Looks to typically be 10-15 mm based on what I see from other chassis. Last edited by DUI Elite; 12-04-2016 at 05:53 PM.. |
