Castrol vs BMW oil video
Interesting video. Funny part is that BMW oil is made by Castrol.
I think they compare apples to oranges. BMW oil is likely LL-01. While Castrol EDGE is not. |

BTW took a delivery today. It is awesome! sDrive28i. Do feel some lag in the beginning (very little). But then it pulls very strong. And I am not pushing it yet. |

Do any of you know the best place to purchase OEM oil filters and what else is needed besides oil and a filter between intervals?specifically any washers or o rings that we should be replacing.

I haven't changed my own oil in 3 years. The OEM oil filters came with washer and O-Ring and I guess they still do. I just buy from the dealer.

Going to put my car on the ramp in few days to see what kind of oil pan it has. I think there are two: plastic and aluminum. Depending on this there should be two kinds of drain plugs - plastic or steel. Crash washer is for the steel plug. Plastic plug requires at least an o-ring. I heard that if mentioned parts department would provide the whole plastic plug with the filter. Not sure how true it is though.
