Sold Sold Sold
I finally sold my ranger after 2 days of it being on kijiji! I can finally go into the dealership and order my X1 Going to call my insurance co on monday to see how deep they're gonna go if I went 35i instead of 28i.
I'll keep you all informed about the sale. T. |

Mine is $323 per quarter (3 months). BTW - non moving violations shouldn't hurt your insurance costs...???? |

Good on you. The 35i is such a fun car, but if you buy it, you will be buying it for that. Unless you lug heavy stuff up mountains on a daily basis, it's hard to justify it from a practical point of view. But it's oh so much fun. Much like I don't need very expensive headphones, I don't really need a 35i, but I would not want to give up either. To me, the 35i is easily worth the extra insurance costs.

I pay more a month than Ex-One. I'm going to call to see, but I doubt I'll be willing to pay much more than that per month for insurance when I only get to drive a car for 1 week out of every month

It may not be that much more since the two share a lot of parts except for engine and xmission.
If it's something you're going to keep for several years, might as well get what you want and be happy with that payment

The good thing is that insurance premiums may go down.
Insurance companies are a bit short-sighted, and don't look at accident statistics from overseas. So when there's a new model on the market, the calculations starts at zero. If you drive a Nissan, this tends to be bad news, as insurance premiums are likely to increase as the insurance companies realize that "Yep, it gets into lots of accidents here too. Who would have thunk!". But BMW is one of the brands where insurance premiums are likely to go slightly down as the cars prove safer than average for the vehicle type, price and engine. |

i have a very good driving record and the difference between the 28i sdrive and the 35i was $5. As a reference my insurance on my e90 was $93 a month and the X1 is now $102 a month with max coverage.

Some BMWs are expensive to insure, but that's mostly those that are really high cost and attract thieves, like the 7ers. |

Just got my quotes. For my 2010 Ranger, stickered at $31600, I was paying about $3600 per year. They quoted me for $2200 per year for the 2014 X1 35i.

Bad record lol. When I bought the truck, my record was clear and I was paying $98/mo for the truck and my 97 t-bird.
