Limp Mode problem?
Hi all, I have a 2014 x35i sport and about once a month I have loss of power as if trans goes into neutral but lever is still in drive. Engine stays on but I have to restart the car or put it in reverse and then problem goes away. This happens from low speeds(20 to 30 mph) or from stopped position but it is potentially very dangerous especially if you are trying to pass on single lane highway. Once when this happened I was going about 25 mph and then it went into this limp mode and I revved it up to about 5000 to 6000 rpm and I only accelerated to about 15 mph. Anyone had this problem or any insights? I doubt that service will be able to replicate this.

Check on the F30 board, search under Limp Mode and there are a lot of responses for N55 engine. Should be exactly the same as the X35, same engine just different transmission.

Any limp-mode should store a code. You're under warranty, bring it and get a loaner.
