Yea, they are just showcasing the concept. The X1 Power Ride Edition available for purchase actually isn't on display (but it's in the photos above).

This makes total sense for someone who works for K2 and who lives and dies for K2 and BMW. For me, I wouldn't agree to be a billboard for anything unless I was paid for doing so.

I'd like the special ski rack. But the rest, not so much.
I get the feeling that this is more for poseurs and apres-ski than those who would really go to a mountain top. I mean, at least put 17" tires on it if you want to drive it on snow like what's shown in the pictures, and add some chains. Like shown, you're likely going to spend a lot of time waiting for the next Range Rover to pull you out. |

Yes, a brilliant example of form over function. Imagine when you hit a chunk of ice, there's a groove, or you need to put on chains. I trust this thing also comes with a spade and towbar if intended to be driven in conditions like in the pictures.
Nice rack, though. On the car too. |

I wonder what market BMW targets with decals for "The Shocker"
http://e84.xbimmers.com/goodiesforyo...38-highRes.jpg (Maybe they're making a joke that it "goes like stink" and I'm not getting it)

My friend just got one; but that's because that's the only one in stock and dealer willing to take off those decals. I guess it will sell quite well since dealer can take the decals off plus it has some extra package discount so it is cheaper than a x-line with same options.
