BMW x1 hood sticker question
I'm looking to buy a preowned 2013 x1 from a dealer. I noticed that the gap between the front bumper and hood is larger than usual. When I opened the hood the front bumper notch in the middle was misaligned with the tab, and the underside of the hood had no stickers and padding. Car has a clean carfax. All my previous bmws had padding and stickers on the hood, is the x1 any different? Should I be worried about the car being in an accident? Any input is appreciated.

They stopped the insulation with the turbo motors. They're barely adequately cooled without it.
Turbos suppress a lot of noise and run hot. However at the same time they added direct injection, which makes a lot of racket at idle, so you can very clearly hear that now. |

I'll double check tonight, there should at least be a VIN sticker and usually there are a few others, so that may point to a replacement hood. My previous BMW had a cumulative $30k or so of repairs, but a clear CarFax.

I have a 2015 and there are two stickers on the underside of the hood, one is for the A/C the second is for the emissions system and, as others have stated, there is no padding.

even though it has a clean car fax it is allow to be repaired up to about 15 or 20% damage. so look under and look at bolts on fender and plastic tabs and so on. look at paint on front bumper from an angle, then look at back bumper is it the same sheen and smoothness and so on.

I think the poor front end assembly and the lack of factory sticker pretty much confirms that it was in an accident. Will have to pass. Thanks for everyone who responded.
