That type of illuminated grille frame hasn’t grow on me , yet. I was looking at the i5 with the glowing grille, led headlights.
I was thinking, why?

Finally I route it through the firewall to the BDC.

First I didn't get any voltage on the wire (pin 50) from the BDC when 12V/ACC ON was on but motor not running. Then I found it out that the coding wasn't quite right. The function of "Tagfahrlicht [04]" in lamp mapping is only activated upon engine start.

To get the grill working in all scenarios I had to code 3 different mappings:
STAND_V_L -> To have it working light switch in pos 1 o'clock
PARKL_1_V_L -> To have it working light switch in pos 1 o'clock
TAGFAHRL_1_V_L -> To have it working when engine is running in A or 0 and DRL box is checked it iDrive.

Part of values is to make it part of the Welcome lights, Follow Home or whatever you choose. I chose WLH, FMH, RML which corresponds with B0

All mapping values are as follows for all mappings

Code:
MAPPING_PARKL_1_V_L_FUNCTION: parklicht [10]
MAPPING_PARKL_1_V_L_OUTPUT: tfl_l [03]
MAPPING_PARKL_1_V_L_PART_OF: WLH_FMH_RL[B0]
MAPPING_PARKL_1_V_L_FIXED_PWM: fixed [01]
MAPPING_PARKL_1_V_L_PWM_1_LEFT: 100% [64]
MAPPING_PARKL_1_V_L_PRIORITY: Priority_2 [02]

MAPPING_STANDL_V_L_FUNCTION: standlicht [01]
MAPPING_STANDL_V_L_OUTPUT: tfl_l [03]
MAPPING_STANDL_V_L_PART_OF: WLH_FMH_RL[B0]
MAPPING_STANDL_V_L_FIXED_PWM: fixed [01]
MAPPING_STANDL_V_L_PWM_1_LEFT: 100% [64]
MAPPING_STANDL_V_L_PRIORITY: Priority_2 [02]

MAPPING_TAGFAHRL_1_V_L_FUNCTION: tagfahrlicht [04]
MAPPING_TAGFAHRL_1_V_L_OUTPUT: tfl_l [03]
MAPPING_TAGFAHRL_1_V_L_PART_OF: WLH_FMH_RL[B0]
MAPPING_TAGFAHRL_1_V_L_FIXED_PWM: fixed [01]
MAPPING_TAGFAHRL_1_V_L_PWM_1_STANDARD: 100% [64]
MAPPING_TAGFAHRL_1_V_L_PRIORITY: Priority_1 [01]
Priorities cannot be the same on the same output channel otherwise you get a error in the BDC - 8041C3 lamp mapping failed. While this doesn't have a practical impact, it's nice to do it clean

Kind of cool as knowing this we can control any light how we want. In hindsight I wouldn't need a canbus reader for my ledbar, could have just used the output
