Had a similar situation happened to us on our trip down to Portland. The rear tire sidewall was shredded for the Bridgestone Driveguard. Because it was fun for we were able to lump to the closest tire shop which was 15 mins way..... Although it felt like eternity! Tire held up.... We avg about 60-90km/h during that time.
I'm not a fan for runflats due to poorer ride quality, but in this situation it was invaluable to getting us to a safe place.
