I guess I should give an up date to my own thread. I picked up a set of BMW Style 350 Wheels. They are 8x18 ET30 (same as the OEMs). Still heavy compared to most other after market wheels but the wife liked them (The X1 is her buggy). The 350s were originally made for the 5er F10 series. We tossed the OEM RFT on these wheels as they still had 5/32 of tread on them.

I took the original 355 wheels, spiffed them up a bit, and tossed a set of 225/45R-18 Michelin X-Ice tires on them. But here was the kicker, last winter was a non winter so I never bothered to put them on the wife's buggy.

So in the end we stayed with the original OEM wheel/tire sizes. Still plenty of side wall and at 8" they are not that wide. When the RFT are toasted I might look at putting some summer 245/40-18R on the buggy. A bit fatter but pretty much the same diameter. Just not just how they might look on 8" wheels.
