I had an AMC Rambler American in the 80s, does that count? Three on the tree, drove like a brick, drank like a fish, but I could fry eggs on the hood and fold down the front couch to get a bed.
Anyhow, I think you misunderstood "I didn't buy a BMW to have it looked at
by others". How it looks to me, sitting in it, is important. How it looks to others isn't, as long as they don't bother me.
