Apologies as I still haven't got that picture taken. Heating the trim piece
may work, but you'll only get a small amount of additional clearance by doing this......unless you are removing the plastic rivets as well.
The wheel well carpet is a pain but you may get away without touching it.

I think a meet would be decent Anton....I still haven't seen your X1. I'm retiring the X1 from winter duties this year so a meet up before the snow flies would be good.
Which reminds me, a for sale thread might be in order for a few things (winter mats etc)
