I was doing very small commuting in my last job (about 3 miles) for 6 months with no issues. I noticed a burning rubber smell from the back of the car a few times which according to forums is the DPF doing its stuff.

My new job is 19miles on A and B roads and also very hilly but I’m returning 43mpg (down to 41.5 now the schools are back and traffic increased)

I also have to do Uni runs several times a year of 540mile round trips for one and now will also do about 400 to Sheffield for the other child. I usually get 50-53mpg on those runs and I believe that these runs do the engine/DPF good but personally, haven’t noticed any difference

Not wishing to state the obvious but.........have you reset your MPG gauge ?
