I agree, any diesel would be nice, of course so would a manual.

Interesting early observation, but at 1,200 miles, our N55 X1 is already getting better mileage than our previous N54 135i, with more weight, the same transmission and awd. On my wife's torturous 1.8 mile commute, she's getting 16.8 mpg vs the norm of about 15.5 with her 135i.

Our one highway drive though only returned 25.8 mpg, while the 135i usually got about 29 mpg on the same drive, albeit faster and with less speed variation than I used while the X1 was still green, at about 400-800 miles for that trip.
