As for tires themselves, the DriveGuard is reported to be one of the best driving run flats, however it is not a performance tire.
Personally I have and am a fan of the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ (non run flat). I carry a plug kit, a tire sealant kit and an air compressor at all times in case of a flat and also have a AAA membership.
The Continental ExtremeContact seems to be another non run flat that many people like.
