I called BMW NA about the problem with my MY13 and was told they are receiving a lot of calls about the problem. I was also told that they are trying to find a solution to the problem. If you are affected, call them at 1-800-831-1117 and file a formal complaint. If enough of us do complain maybe they will do something sooner than later. As an aside, I totally used and relied upon BMW Assist for my three vehicles.
