Did anyone ever get to the bottom of this? The idea that the air can't be displaced during fill, and the subsequent increase in pressure causes the shutoff mechanismn in the pump to trigger makes sense. I'm not sure where to look first though. I've found some generic diagrams for vent tubes here and there, but don't know where it would be on the E84 X1... Would the E90 be the most similar? E87? Would real OEM be the best place to figure it out? A shop manual?
