That ship has sailed
This should have been the direction at the end 2014. Mercedes, Audi, and Porsche as well as others are now well into developing different levels of this type of car for their brands.
As for the ambition of 451kw, well, it really needs to have a rethink otherwise it will be back where the i8 was; a starting point but not goal achieved.
Since they have no intention to stick an exotic engine in it, I say skip the hybrid thing and go all electric and do something truly revolutionary that merits a halo car.
