At about 95,000 miles our X1 started doing that, anytime it sat more than overnight we would get a large cloud of oil smoke at startup. Dealer said no problem, no recall, no warranty, never heard of it, couldn’t reproduce it. So I ordered the new oil hose, started to install it but after getting close realized it was too risky for me. At about 108,000 miles it stopped, we are at 135,000 miles now and it has never happened again. The only thing I did was replace the wastegate actuator when it went bad at about 105,000 miles but I don’t think that has anything to do with it.
