Storms... you mean Houston and Galveston. Yeah, see my first post. U welcome.
There are no storms in Austin. The only thing remotely dangerous (definitely not life threatening) are hail storms. But the ones big enough to be worth mentioning happen only once in 10 years or so. It may be fun to watch a small hail storm, especially for the kids.
