Sure, the number of cars on LA roads is much greater than here in Austin, but the average speed has to be wildly higher for anything but the 10 heading into or out of Santa Monica. That about the only road I can think of that acted like Austin roads at rush hour.

The 405 and 10 are the biggest parking lots in this country. LA is an absolute shit show, repeatedly ranking #1 on "worst traffic in the world" articles.
At least Austin doesn't have the geographic and infrastructure limitations of SoCal. LA is stuck with its road infrastructure. Texas has land as far as the eye can see.
