I am wanting to do something on my new X1 but really do not want to lower the car too much and make it look slammed. I have been spoiled for the last 5-6 years with AST dampers and I am afraid some of these off the shelf kits are not going to cut it. Higher grade springs from Swift with thrust sheets will be a priority. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
The e90 kit has shorter shocks and springs. I don't know the difference on the front, but the rear spring is 30mm shorter on the e90, and the shock is shorter as well. My BC kit on my X1 does not go super low, but that's fine with me.

The front strut lower diameter where it actually sits in the spindle is larger on the X1 kit as well.

You can opt for swift springs with the BC kits, and they do offer a kit with independent compression and rebound adjustment. I've been running the regular BR kit on my X1 for a few months and have two track days on it with no issues. I'm actually scheduled to be driving it at Sebring again this weekend. I've provided BC with feedback over the past few months and so far we've changed the rear shock valving once, and the rear spring twice. I'm now running a progressive rate rear spring and the car is much more comfortable on the street. It's been pretty great on the track so far but we'll see this weekend if the progressive rear spring hurts that at all.
