To my eyes, the G60 is the first 5-series that actually looks good since the E39. Instant "Wow!" factor the first time I saw it. I bought it even though it's much bigger than I need, mainly because I can't stomach the front end of the current 4-series.
Same for the 7-series. None of them have really appealed to me since the E38 (which I used to own), but if money was no object I'd love a G70.
As for 3/4-series, I guess I'm among those who feel that E9X was the peak (mine was an E93) and nothing before or since has really gotten close.
