OP - I would DIY this! Do your research and you'll find it won't be costly nor difficult to fix. Most people shy away from this because they don't know exactly what is needed and have zero experience. I am one of those people! Youtube is a great resource where professional detailers give you step by step.
Sand paper might sound scary at first but I took the plunge and picked up what i needed. Wet sanding is simple for light scratches and buffing.
Drcolorchip is easy to use if you follow their steps.
