I use the Air Force Master Blaster for my cars and motorcycle. It works great and has a pre-filter to minimize particles that potentially could blow out of the hose. If you get one of these, get two hoses so you can reach all parts of the car without moving the motor unit around.
I would think a towel would put micro scratches in the finish.
