its an "anything" wringer; drying towels, wash mitts etc. It makes drying "anything" so much faster and easier after a good rinse/wash. You should try it. But shiny? It's mat finished stainless steel, but maybe the crank handle is a bit shiny as its made out of tubing. Gee wiz... what will they think of next - Blowers and PFM towels??
