Sonax works great and is Ph neutral...
I did my own wheels when they were new, needs another coat now 3yrs later. Will probably do it this summer when I have time. Did the calipers too... The ceramic coating doesn't prevent dirt/dust from clinging, buy it certainly makes cleaning them tons easier! Is it worth it? I think so. As a DIY project. $500 for 4-6 hours work? It all depends what your time is worth to you. Remember nobody is going to do it like you would when it's your own. But if a reputable shop, I'd probably go for it!
