If you don't mind the increased heft, the X3 is good choice. It's quite the ubiquitous luxury small SUV. I find the F-pace to be real sexy. Unfortunately its forum is littered with ownership and material quality issues. It sounds awesome too.
My wife has been hankering for an upgrade. She has set her eyes on the X3. Recently was loaned a X6 M Sport when our X1 was in for a recall. I gotta admit, for its size, it drove small. It's also PDQ thanks to the B58 engine.
The e84 X1 is the last of its kind. It's basically a jacked up e90 3-series Touring. Those are hard to come by. How about a f30 touring wagon?
