I'm also planning on replacing my X1's front bumper.
Curiously, BMW's package list for "Retrofit, M aerodynamic kit" (
http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/E8...t_2/#8038058_2) includes an item they call "Front panel", with code 51648038058 (item no. 2 on that image).
Does anyone know if it is really necessary to buy it? If it is not, is it necessary to make any kind of adaptation to fit the new bumper, or the bumper just fits perfectly without the need for this part (Front panel)?
