what's your opinion in regards of the quality of sound, Bass, Highs and mids?...

Sounds fine, very good clarity, which was the intent. Although outside the car it can sound like you're jammin while inside isn't really that loud.

I think it was worth the little bit extra if the stereo quality is important to the owner. (some folks could care less about the radio)

I have the HK system and find it pretty good. It's not as nice as the new F30s but still better than stock.

It sounds okay as soon as you go into iDrive and turn off the fake surround, which is the most awful fake surround I've heard.

so it has a surround effect, that's not bad...it all depends on the sound track you feed in I'll guess....
