Modification blues

Hey everybody, new here. For the few of you guys who have done things to personalize your cars, have you ran into any warranty issues? And what will actually void the warranty?
Thanks in advance

The Moss-Magnuson Act is mostly on your side:

15 USC 2302:
(c) Prohibition on conditions for written or implied warranty;
waiver by Commission
No warrantor of a consumer product may condition his written or
implied warranty of such product on the consumer's using, in
connection with such product, any article or service (other than
article or service provided without charge under the terms of the
warranty) which is identified by brand, trade, or corporate name;
except that the prohibition of this subsection may be waived by the
Commission if -
(1) the warrantor satisfies the Commission that the warranted
product will function properly only if the article or service so
identified is used in connection with the warranted product, and
(2) the Commission finds that such a waiver is in the public
interest.

The Commission shall identify in the Federal Register, and permit
public comment on, all applications for waiver of the prohibition
of this subsection, and shall publish in the Federal Register its
disposition of any such application, including the reasons
therefor.

That said, it would depend on just what you have changed, and what gets damaged. Cosmetic changes or upgrades to higher quality components are unlikely to cause any problems, but if you do things that affect the handling or engine in a negative way, you may have a problem.
Also, if the vendor provides free replacements for something even due to normal wear, you may not get away with replacing it. K&N air filters, for example, give a good boost and are usually OK if the vendor won't replace air filters for free, but if they do, they may use it against you if you have an engine failure that could possibly have been caused by inadequate filtration.
