in the shadows..

We don't care if BMW is the #1 Automotive Company... only that they go back to making cars like the E30, E34 & E46. Those cars were a blast to drive.. it didn't matter about the horsepower, or the gimmicktry inside, just as long as they were a manual with a limited slip... everything was good. Note: BMW doesn't produce a car with a limited slip & manual here in the United States... less it's an M car. That is why nearly all of my college buds don't drive BMW's anymore.. non of the cars BMW produce have quintessential qualities that BMW's of yore had. BMW doesn't even offer a LSD as a $2k option... (lol .. they are that stupid) Secondly, we are upset about this "Power Ride" edition, bcuz is slaps directly in the face of respect. BMW has slaped a large portion of the community across the face.. as in every person who wanted to buy an X1 (any BMW) with a manual... only to understand that BMW has been spending it's resources working with K2 for a few years, for a "Power" edition for us? (REALLY?) Honestly.. does BMW really think, a predominant amount of people drive up to their ski slopes..? And if so.. how does BMW justify their resources in making such an "edition" based on that demographic? (??) If so^, then why not offer a "driver's edition" with a manual and special interior...? Because I know several threads in these forums asking for it... the demand is there... YET... I have never seen one post on these forums asking for a stickered up car, with a jambox on the roof, so some dude can cook sausage on the moutain side... while skiiing..! It is beyond words.. how such an "edition" illustrates exactly where BMW's head is... BMW constantly dismisses the backbone of their customer base, for additional revenues elsewhere. That type of merketing leaves people angered. Yet, whats the actual cost to BMW, to make their former customers happy..? BMW has offers manual X1's in Europe for years.. what justification do they have for not offering it here in North America..? X Line Sport Line M Sport Line & K2 Power Ride Lies^ ..? What justifies "Sport" or "M Sport" to you BMW..? Is it bcz some high-falutin marketer thinks names without logic sell? Does your merketing team think they are fooling anyone? Or, did your marketing research lie to you about manuals? Seeing that in & out of BMW Welt, I see manuals all day long.. yet no offered here in North America? It clearly feels, as if, BMW Germany look down upon us Americans, doesn't it? How else would you explain the X1 being sold in Europe for years, with manuals.. but not here? We know the decision has nothing to do with money... So explain... Lastly, BMW as a brand, is very confusing for someone who's been with you 30 years. The confusion started about 7 years ago... and I think it is very important for BMW to understand their customers loyalty. I have personally sold some 30+ BMW in the last 10 years, just by allowing co-workers/relatives/acquainteces/neighbors drive my cars, etc. But now.. I am sick of explaining to peeps (as I try to sell them on BMW), how $4k in option just for Xen's and other necessities is a deal.. BMW doesn't do this Europeans, so why Americans? Americans are individualistic, a package is not a good deal, when u only want one thing out of it. Being told you need stuff in your car, that you really don't want, or need.. is a major death-nail for BMW. It is not about money either, it about choice... a choice BMW doesn't offer.
