Lowered my Valencia Orange M-sport!

Just installed a set of BC coilovers on my X1! Purchased and installed at Precision Sport Industries (www.precision-sport.com), they are the prototype BC's for this car, and so far fit great. The wheels are Rays 2x8 19" staggered.

Have you noticed any improvement in handling?

It's at the alignment shop now. I asked for -1.5 rear and -2.0 up front. I'll see what they say. The camber wasn't too bad, but it was definitely more negative than it should be.

I did take a few during install, once I get them off of my camera I'll definitely post a few shots.

It's getting aligned today, once it's done I'll let you know. I'm sure that since I can now properly align it with the front camber plates, that alone will make a difference in handling. I had BC's on my R56 cooper, and currently have some on my e36 racecar, and they've worked great so I can't imagine these to be any different.

Just had the car aligned. Max positive camber that could be achieved in the rear was -2.22*. Adjustable bushings will be needed to go any more positive than that.

Thanks! 19x8.5 et24 front 19x9.5 et36 rear. I'm likely going to space the front and rear another 12mm or so.

looks real sharp, dont go wider than 12mm on the spacers or it will rub. iam running 15mm all around had to remove about 1/4 inch on the inside edge lip and iam running the 9" wide rims up front like the back.

Thanks!

I ended up swapping to 225/40/19 front and 255/35/19 rear, with a 20mm spacer up front and a 12mm spacer in the rear and it does rub the rear sometimes.

I'm tracking the car this weekend and will be swapping on 18x9 et27 285/35/18 up front and 18x9.5 et45 295/35/18 rear so we'll see how it does with the stickier tires and coilovers!

The car handled pretty good. It pushed a little on entry, but I was able to drive around it by kind of flicking it in. I have 7k front springs, and 11k rear. I softened up the front dampers and stiffened the rears, and ended up with 30psi front and 37psi rear hot for tire pressures. Overall I can't complain, it's not a racecar haha.

Awesome, nice to see someone else tracking the X1. Did you seriously fit 285 rubber up front and 295 in the back? Holy crap.

The amazing thing to me is that the people you were chasing didn't seem to leave you that much on the corners, just on the straights where you are clearly down on power. If you had another 50hp I bet you would have kept up just fine. Could just be that you're a better driver than them too.

Do you have the JB4? I noticed your one gauge fluctuating, assuming its your boost level?

Thanks man. I was able to fit the 285s up front on a 9" wheel et17, and the rear 295s on a 9.5" wheel et45. I had -2.8* F and -2.3* R camber though, 0 toe. The car really did handle pretty good for what it is, I was trying pretty hard to hang with the old silver Porsche in front of me, but he kept inching away down the straights!

I do have a JB4. I should have mentioned that in map 1 the car would maintain higher boost levels for the entire 25 minute session, but in map 2 it would shut down to OEM power after about 15 minutes (Oil temp was getting too hot). I'm on 93 octance and it was roughly 65-80 degrees F at the track that weekend.
