Burning Smell
So I had my 35i in D/S on the gear selector to merge into fast moving traffic from a stop. RPMs went 7000 then the transmission shifted. Engine was not fully warmed yet as oil temp gauge had not moved much. This morning I am getting a intermittent foul odor when accelerating like something is burning. Any ideas?

was moving the whole time. I had to floor it to get into quick moving traffic from a stop. RPMs went to 7K while in gear and moving. Funny smell now when accelerating hard.

Ah ok, just sounds like you broke some carbon loose somewhere and it's getting burned up. You could have also forced some blow by oil (normal) through the engine that was pooled up somewhere.
I would do a quick visual under the hood and your parking spot tomorrow morning just to be safe. |
