tires on sports package - Runflat disaster?

So I might be pulling the trigger on an X1 tomorrow.

I'd be getting the sports package on the Xdrive 28i.

My question is:
How are the runflats?

Reason I'm asking is that I'm coming from an e90 with the 18 inch setup and bridgestone potenza.

At the moment, after replacing my whole set twice, I have 5 bubbles on 4 tires. It's not my driving, its the darn potholes here in Montreal.

Are the new tires as bad as the previous Potenzas?
They are known to bubble and stuff...

Thanks in advance guys!

ps: reason of the question is that I wanna know if I get the tire and wheel insurance or not.
pps: I do a lot of road trips to NY from Montreal and dont want to get stuck without a spare, so runflat is my only option...

I don't think they are putting Potenza's on X1's. There was a thread about this a while back but I don't remember Potenza ever even being mentioned. Mine has Goodyear Efficient Grips. I just replaced my E93 Potenza 050's with Michelin PS2's run flats.

given that the X1 is based off the same platform as your E90, ride should be very familiar and in fact they are similar. I was also surprised to find out that tire and wheel sizes are the same (except minimum 17" on X1 due to larger brakes). You may have some better luck querying feedback on the performance tires on the E90 forum since they're likely the same models being used.
